The LA/Berlin-based band Gliss has released a new single called “Mirrored”.

Thematically “Mirrored” is teasing the topic of their upcoming album “Pale Reflections” that will be released later this year.

While their first releases, the EP “Kick In Your Heart” in 2005, and the albums “Love the Virgins” and “Devotion Implosion” in 2006 and 2009 were critically acclaimed for their catchy noise pop, shoegaze sound and beautiful melancholic ballads, Gliss changed their style in 2013.

After their latest LP “Langsom Dans” in 2013 featured mainly slow pop tracks, the band is returning as a duo consisting of Victoria Cecilia and Martin Klingman with a new sound.

“Mirrored” is a dark and slow song with a Cure-like guitar hook looping through the whole track that is equipped with a bright electronic beat and layered echoing vocals by Cecilia. The peak of “Mirrored” are the synths that are cold like cold-wave (02:15) – the best 10 seconds of the track.

The single was recorded in Los Angeles and Berlin by Victoria Cecilia and Martin Klingman and mixed by Victoria Cecilia. The videoclip for the single was directed by Alex Loverde.
